Also, some real ale drinkers are unconcerned about the closure of pubs that don't sell real ale. Snobbish and self-serving - unattractive traits.

The leader of Pendle council said that in his discussions with central government, he suggested that pubs were being closed, not for safety reasons, but to get a point across. Whoever he was talking to agreed. That tells you what you need to know.RedNevhttps://rednev-rearm.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2396204660331057802.post-9765962557838134772020-10-19T01:56:26.302-07:002020-10-19T01:56:26.302-07:00All good points. If they're having problems everyone else is in more trouble.
After having moved back up to Derbyshire 4 years ago after 36 years down south (and with a daughter in Prestwich) it just feels like we're so isolated from government. As my daughter said the other day, with Burnham it finally feels that somebody is speaking up for us.TheWickingMannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2396204660331057802.post-14317907608451246012020-10-19T01:34:40.211-07:002020-10-19T01:34:40.211-07:00Sensible points, Matthew, particularly about Spoon...Sensible points, Matthew, particularly about Spoons, whose collapse would clearly please many but bring harm to many young lives, and cause the loss of a valuable social amenity in many a market town.retiredmartinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2396204660331057802.post-59145511916874274322020-10-19T01:15:36.579-07:002020-10-19T01:15:36.579-07:00When spoons are quiet, other pubs are dead. Spoons...When spoons are quiet, other pubs are dead. Spoons will be the last to fall, though fall they might.

It is odd how people set themselves against things. No one has to go in a spoons. You can leave them to those that like them. But if they go, that’s a fair few breweries losing trade. It doesn’t herald in a new boom in micropub glory.

It like when CAMRAs cheer because Stella is losing sales. When you point out that those lost sales are not made up by any increase in cask sales and likely correlate to closed pubs, well it’s the wrong sort of pubs that are closing anyway. All very odd.

Cooking Lagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02830924433230427226noreply@blogger.com
